People credited with this course are able to: provide immediate first aid assistance, basic life support (CPR), manage a foreign body airway obstruction, manage first aid for life threatening bleeding, and provide first aid management for a person in shock, burns, fractures and assist when patients experience medical conditions.
KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES:
At the completion of the course you will be able to:
- Provide immediate bystander First Aid at work or home
- Provide Basic Life Support (CPR) for adult, child or infant
- Supports the person to relieve an airway obstruction (Choking) adult, child or infant
- Demonstrate the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Assess and manage a collapsed person’s condition
- Approach of an accident scene relating to accidents in the workplace
- Demonstrate and apply the primary survey assessment (DRSABCD algorithm)
- Management of shock
- Manage trauma conditions – bleeding, burns, fractures, dislocations or sprains
- Manage medical condition - heart attack, asthma, stroke, seizures or diabetes
- Demonstrate knowledge of the emergency rescue plan to be activated in the event of a fall
