This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and technical skills to understand the legal requirements around working at heights and preventing a worker from falling. You will learn to plan, implement and disestablish height safety systems while working at heights using fall devices, anchor points and safety harness.

- Explain the legislative requirements and systems used for working at heights.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety harnesses and associated systems and equipment.
- Check and fit a safety harness for working at height.
- Identify anchor points and prepare to install a temporary proprietary height safety system.
- Install horizontal and vertical temporary proprietary height safety systems.
- Assess hazards associated with system installation and develop a suitable work method to ensure safety.
- Use temporary proprietary height safety systems.
- Disestablish temporary proprietary height safety systems.
- Demonstrate knowledge of hazards associated with wearing a safety harness and associated equipment.
- Use a safety harness system where a fall hazard exists at height.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the rescue plan to be activated in the event of a fall.
- Identify the common types of height safety equipment used in the workplace.
- Identify suitable height work equipment and suitable anchor points for fall restraint and arrest systems.
- Use height safety equipment and plan rescue techniques and emergency procedures for working at height.
